Funny for the Day...

I heard this story today from my Aunt Hope and it is a TRUE story and could be the funniest thing this whole year...
This guy that works for my Uncle Randy (Hopes Husband) has a neighbor that has a 37 year old son who has some mental handicaps...the mom got up and went to work this morning and a little while after being at work her son called and said Mom you need to come home, I caught a troll and you need to come see it...
needless to say the mom had no idea what he was talking about and was not about to leave work to go find out so she told her son she couldn't come home...he called a couple more times and said the same thing Mom you need to come home and see the troll I caught...she told her son if she had time she would come home for lunch...well lunch time came and went and she was super busy at work and never made it home...finally on about the 5th call to his mom she finally went into her boss and said something is going on at home and I need to leave...
so she gets home and goes in the house and her son is pacing the floor up and down the hall and he is just dripping in sweat...he says Mom come look at the troll I caught...she follows her son into his bedroom and her son has his dresser and bed pushed up against the closet door...at this point his mom is thinking what is going on here...
her son moves the dresser and bed and pulls open the door and inside the closet is a little person...of course the mom can not believe her eyes and her son is so proud of himself for catching a troll...the gentlemen in the closet said to the mom, after being locked in this closet for over 5 hours and listening to your son I have realized that he has some mental issues and I don't want to press charges I just want to go home...
I guess he was a Jehovah Witness and when the son opened the door and saw a little person he thought it was a troll and grabbed him and put him in his closet for good luck...
Seriously if that is not the funniest thing you have ever heard I don't know what is...I can not even imagine what the poor mom was thinking and how do you even begin to apologize for your son...I am glad he was so understanding and I hope he doesn't hold any hard feelings but I am also glad that we get a good laugh out of the story...
I just can't even begin to imagine what would be going through my head...
Hope you have a good laugh...
Enjoy!!!

This is how I like to RIDE!!!!

This is kind of an old picture but this is how Cort likes to ride in Shopping Carts...he turns around so he can see his brother in the back...it doesn't look comfortable at all but he loves it...whatever keeps him happy...

My Favorite Time of Day...

This is my favorite time of day...

When we put Cort down for his morning nap (usually around 10 or 11)...Odin will grab his blanket and run upstairs to get on Mommies Bed...and he will yell for me to come up with him...and we lay in Mommies bed and watch cartoons and usually I fall asleep and sometimes he falls asleep and sometimes neither of us sleep and I just get to enjoy my time with the cuddle bug and Cort isn't there to get mad at me for not giving him my attention and I can just purely enjoy my Odin and Mommy time...
I sure love this boy and sometimes I lay in bed watching him and thinking to myself "How did I get so lucky?"...he is such an amazing little boy and he brings such spirit and spunk into this family...it is always amazing to me to just watch my little boys and think how they are a part of me and how words can not express how much I love them...
I thank my Heavenly Father every day for letting me raise his children and these choice spirits...Heavenly Father has some big plans for these little boys and I just hope I can prepare them for it all...

In Addition

In addition to Yesterdays Blog Post about my Cousin Tyler...
When he was in the hospital the family stayed at the Ronald McDonald Home and we all collect the tabs off of cans to donate to the Ronald McDonald Home...
so if any of you out there in Blog World read or care about my blog and you drink out of cans please save those tabs off the top and donate them to the Ronald McDonald House...
all of our family members have a jar somewhere in their kitchen that we throw them into so you could do the same thing and if you get sick of them being there or it fills up please let me know and I will gladly come collect them from you and we will turn them in under Tyler's name...it isn't hard to do so if you have those canned drinks laying around start saving the little tab on top...
Thanks Bunches!!!!

Save the Cherubs

I have an Uncle and Aunt who had a little boy that was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH)...
CDH effects a child every 10 minutes but unfortunately a lot of people don't know what it is or have never heard of it...
Over 600,000 babies since 2000 were born with CDH- and it killed 300,000 of them...
It is our job as families to get the word out about CDH...children with CDH are called Cherubs and in support of my Uncle and Aunt and their little man Tyler I want to bring awareness to our little Cherubs around the world...
Thank Goodness Tyler survived and has beaten all the odds...he is a miracle in our family and we love him so much...
Please take a few moments and read about CDH and also here is a video my Aunt Hope made about her experience with her son Tyler...
And if you have even a few more minutes you could post this in your blog and pass the word on...you never know who CDH is going to affect next...

Thank You!!!

Boys

Not to be prejudice or anything but seriously these are the dang cutest and handsome boys EVER!!!...
this was them getting ready to leave for church...
I could just eat them up they are so dang cute...

I love Sunday dinners with the Family...Today we had a big Bar-b-Que at Grandpa and Grandma Memmotts and of course Odin loved playing with the cousins...
This is how he looked when he was all done...

Yes his hands are BLACK...and he had a scrap on his elbow and his shirt wasn't really white anymore...to say the least he did get a bath that night for sure...and when I took a picture of his hands he said he wanted to take a picture of my dirty hands...I am sure they were not as dirty as his...

And of course at the Bar-b-Que Odin had to take some pictures of everyone...so here are some of his mad photo skills...funny thing: when he wants to take pictures he says "Mom, Eeesss" (aka Mom Cheese) because I always tell him to say cheese when I take his picture so he calls it a "Eeessss"

St. Patricks Day

I saw these cute shirts at Wal-Mart (for really cheap) and thought I would get them and try to do a little photo shoot with the boys...

Enjoy!!!

(This was the last photo we took because Odin was moving faster then he thought he could holding his brother and fell right on top of Cort and Cort's face hit the sidewalk...he only has a little scrap on his chin-Surprisingly)

Making Memories

With Chuck working up in Salt Lake I want to make lasting memories when he is home for a visit...
When he was home this last week we had to go to Nellis Air Force Base to update my ID card (one less thing to get ready for when he leaves on Active Duty orders)...so we thought why not make a day out of it and have some fun...Of course Odin LOVED being at Nellis because there were some Jets taking off for practice and he went crazy watching them...Chuck and I really need to take him to an Air Show sometime...He had so much fun and Chuck and I loved watching his face when they would take off...Odin is such a character...

My Cousin Amy has been telling us about this Museum that she has taken her boys to and how much fun they had there, so we thought we would give it a try...It is called the "Lied Children's Discovery Museum" and we were there for over 2 hours...it was SO much fun...Odin loved it just as much as us Adults...there is fun for everyone of every age...we definitely got our moneys worth...

There was a little grocery store to go shopping in and so Odin went shopping with Nana and Papa

There was a Bubbles Section and we LOVED that section...pretty cool stuff...

There was a Climbing Section and of course Odin LOVED that....our little Climber...

There was a tube you could get in and it would blow like a Tornado (only 75 mph) and Odin and I tried it out...he wasn't to sure about it...and they had some boots that you could put on and it would make you feel like you were walking on the moon...Odin did really good...

Cort absolutely LOVED watching the boys play with the bubbles...he thought they were doing it all for his entertainment...

When you first walk in they have some hard hats and vests that you can put on to wear around the whole place...Odin loved that stuff...

and then we also had to take Odin to see the "Arrrssss" (aka Lions at the MGM)...he thought they were pretty cool...
and then we can't go to Vegas with out going to play with his Best Friend (and Cousin) "Iger" aka Bridger...so we went out to Dan and Amy's and had dinner at their house and let the boys play before we drove home...Overall it was a Very Fun Day...I did have one melt down but it didn't take away from us Making Memories...I love My Boys!!!!

Cort is getting into Trouble...

You know my Mom always told me that you either have kids who go far and run or you have kids that climb everything...well I have been blessed with two climbers...I remember when Odin was growing up he would make anything into something he could climb...we were forever trying to think one step ahead of him and it just wasn't possible...it still isn't possible but we just go with it...Well now Cort has been watching and learning and he is now climbing everything...here is the newest thing he has started climbing...

Now this wouldn't be a problem if 1: Odin didn't push him off for being on his bed and 2: If we didn't have hard wood floors...but because of both those problems I must keep a VERY close eye on both of them...I am seeing broken bones and concussions in my future and frankly that scares the beegies out of me...

P.S. Enjoy that tongue of Corts that is also his newest thing...it is always sticking out from his mouth and always on the one side...it is the funniest thing...I keep thinking he is doing that because he is getting teeth but I don't see any teeth so I am not sure why he does it...

Comparison Pictures...

I had my Aunt Hope scan some old pictures of me when I was little and I did some comparison pictures of me, Odin and Cort...looking at the pictures side by side I can definately see that they are my boys...Cort looks more like me then Odin...it is so fun to compare pictures because that is the only way I can see that they do look like me...My mom has been saying ever since Cort was born how she feels like she has gone back in time and it is me that she sees in him all the time...now that I have looked at the pictures I can see what she is talking about...
Hope you Enjoy!!!

We found the hat that the hospital put on Cort when he was born and my sister and I decided to torture Cort and we put it on him and took pictures...so here are the hospital pictures and then him at 10 months wearing the hat...hee hee...

P.S. if you click on the picture it should pull it up bigger so you can see the little ones better... :)

Almost There...

Guess who is ALMOST Walking...Cort is so close it isn't even funny...he takes 3 or 4 steps and then sits down...it is so dang exciting watching him try to learn something so big...It makes remember all the times we watched Odin try over and over again...Cort really would like to just be able to run from his brother but his little legs don't move as fast as his body or as fast as his mind wants him too...it is so dang fun...I am loving this new adventure...
Enjoy the little video...

Through the Years...

So Chuck has been gone most of our Anniversaries and I have been wanting to write down the details of where he has been before I forget even more of the details...
So since Today is our 7 Year Anniversary why not get some details down today...

Dating: This is of us when we were dating...We were so young-we look like little babies...so funny...

(This is when we were Engaged and we had Thanksgiving in Arizona at my Parents house-2002)
The Day we got married Chuck found out he was being called out to Active Duty...We had I think it was about 2 weeks before he left...so our first week of marriage was me sewing patches on his uniforms and helping him get packed to leave...

 (Some of our Announcement Pictures)

(Our Wedding Day)

Sorry I don't have very many pictures from Our Wedding Day...I have them in our Scrapbook and I taped the photos in so I can't get them out to scan...
The morning of our Wedding we woke up and it was snowing like Crazy...and it hardly ever snows in St. George...

He was gone the first 6 months of our marriage...I found out later that his unit changed plans 3 days before they were supposed to leave for Iraq and ended up sending them to Washington State...I was able to fly out and see him there one time during the whole 6 months....

Then in January of 2005 Chuck was called to Active Duty again...This time it was For Sure an Operation Iraqi Freedom and he would be gone 18 months...

He did his training in Mississippi and I was able to fly out there and see him once and we had a lot of fun...we went to New Orleans for a night and 2 days because it was only about an hour away from his Base Camp...

He was in Training for 6 months then came home for about a week then off on a plane to Iraq...
He Surprised me in March and came home for his 2 week visit...I came home from my Aunt Hopes house at about 8 at night...it was dark outside and I opened my car door reached over to my passenger side to grab my stuff and this persons head popped in the car and scared the crap out of me and I then realized it was my Hubby home from Iraq...I started bawling like a baby...I had NO idea he was coming home and only his Brother and Cousin knew...we had fun surprising everyone...
His two week leave turned into four weeks because his Grandpa Gray passed away from Cancer while he was home and they let him stay so he could attend the funeral...a Not So Good reason to stay longer but it was nice to have more time...so we flew to Washington State and said our good byes to Grandpa Gray...

He came home from Iraq in June 2006...it was the BEST day EVER!!!! I count my blessings that he came home safe and sound...

Gone On Active Duty up in Salt Lake...

So out of our 7 years of Marriage he has been home to Celebrate our Anniversary 3 Times...
How is that for 7 years of Marriage....
People ask me all the time "How do you do it??"
And I answer "How do I not???"
This has been all I have ever known...he was in the Army when I met him and this is what I signed up for...I Support Him and Love Him...
I tell those same people "You just do it...You find a way and you just make it happen."
I have definitely learned my own strength and I have learned to appreciate the many sacrifices that our made to ensure my freedom each and every day...
I try not to take things for granted because you never know when it will all change...
I love you the Mostest Charles...and Thanks for sticking with me for 7 years...
