Stetson Cort Taylor

Stetson Cort Taylor
Well our newest addition to the family officially arrived on Saturday April 25Th, 2009 at 10:06 P.M. He was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 19.5 inches long.
When I first saw him (along with my mom and husband) we all thought he looked just like Odin...and then when all the family was aloud to come in the room they all thought the same thing.
Now he is a few days old and with every day he grows into his own person...within the first 24 hours we didn't think he looked so much like Odin.
He is such a good boy...I was worried that with Odin being so easy that this one I wouldn't get so lucky on but he is a very good boy...he doesn't cry hardly at all (just like Odin)...I think that he likes to be held a lot more then Odin did but I have no problem with that...now big brother Odin has a little problem with me holding him all the time...I have to make sure he gets his time too....
The delivery was half the time it took with Odin and I made it to a 6-same as I did with Odin-before I asked for the wonderful epidural...when they did start me on the Pitocin it really got things going fast...in fact after the first half an hour of being on it the nurse came in and upped the dosage and I had a 4 minute contraction that sent heart rates into some scary numbers and the nurse had to run in and turn it back down and we didn't ever turn it back up...that contraction was not a fun one...
I had my husband-Chuck-, my mom, and my sister in there with me (they were also there with Odin) and then out in the hall was My Dad and Brother (Matthew), My Grandparents (Memmotts) My Aunts Launa, Hope, Pam, and Gina, and My cousin Melanie.
My other Cousin McKenzie was a life saver and she spent the night at our home with the little man Odin and we couldn't have asked for someone better...we owe her big...Odin can be quit the handful and she did a great job...Thanks a tonz McKenzie.
Before we went to the hospital we were all at my Grandparents at a family get together and I have such great family members...My Aunts Hope and Launa, My cousin Amy, and my mom and sister took me walking around the block to make sure the contractions were real...which then we timed and they were 5 to 6 minutes apart and I am selfish and really wanted to have this baby on the 25Th...and so I did what I could to get them going...it worked and I am thankful for my family and for them taking time to walk with me and be there for me instead of just pushing me off and doing what they want...My family ROCKS!!!
So I got my selfish wish and I had him on the 25Th-so now I have a boy on May 25Th and April 25Th...now I just have to keep it going...hee hee...
For those family members who are wondering who was closest on the guesses here you go...for the time of delivery...Hope was at 10:25, Launa was at 10:27, and Weston was at 10:28.
for the weight: Rachel was at 7 lbs 5 oz., Angie was at 7 lbs 8 oz., Amy was at 7 lbs. 9 oz., My dad was right on and guessed 7 lbs. 6 oz., and Dan was at 7 lbs. 8 oz.
Well I have probably wrote a lot in this blog and hopefully you can make sense of it all...Thank you so much for all the love and support and for the examples I have in my family...Thanks for all the well wishes and the visits and the gifts...I love all my family and don't know how I would do any of this without my good family and my good friends...
Thanks to everyone

Update on Doctors Appointment

OK...so this little person is still in my belly and doesn't really want to come out...but the more I think about it I probably wouldn't want to come out either...Odin likes to hit my belly all the time and he doesn't like anyone to touch or talk to my belly and so I think this little person is afraid of the BIG BROTHER...if he is already hitting it then what else could be done if it doesn't have the protection of my belly...I have had a little talk with Odin about being nice but he just gives me the "stink eye"-that is what I like to call it...he tilts his head down and looks up at me with a glare-it is the funniest dang thing...
So the doctors appointment today went well...I am dilated to a 4 and about 80% thinned out and the baby is for sure head down and almost lined up but not quite there...so the plan is that if I haven't had it by Wednesday(29Th) I am scheduled to be induced....so we will see this little boy or girl for sure next Wednesday or Thursday...that is pretty exciting...
Other then that not much else is going on...we are all just playing the waiting game...
I will keep everyone posted and can't wait to see everyone next week and introduce them to the newest Taylor...

Doctors Appointment

OK so my Doctors Appointment was today and I am definitely an easy 2 in dilation...really soft and pretty much all the way thinned out. What does that mean???? Well I could go anytime or I could be like that for a little longer. My doctor left to go out of town this weekend with his family and won't be back until Sunday night-so I would really like to keep it in there at least that long but he kind of forgot he was leaving when he was checking me and stripped some of my membranes before he realized what he was doing-and boy am I in some pain. So I am really holding this little person in as long as possible and hoping that the pain is just from being checked and having an almost two year old jump on me a little too much. I will keep you posted.
Oh and also I am still sticking with the little person being a boy...at 38 weeks with Odin the heart beat was 140 and at this appointment (also 38 weeks) the heart beat was 135. I will be soooooo surprised if this comes out a girl. Let me know what you all think it is going to be.
Have a good weekend and watch for any news... :)

Anyone who has kids or plans on having kids....

So my brother told my mom today that his friend lost his nephew yesterday. I think that anyone who has kids or is planning on having kids needs to read this and just remember.
The parents put him down for a nap and when he didn't come out of his room after his nap they went in to check on him. He had been playing with the cord to the blinds and got tangled in it and the cord strangled him. This happens more often then we know but it really hits home when it is someone you know. We need to remember that kids will make toys out of pretty much anything. So take the time to look around their room and put those cords up high and do what we can to protect them from such innocent things. And when you go to someone Else's house check out their room before you put your kid in there. My heart just aches for those parents and I hope we can all learn from their tragedy and protect our children as much as we can. Pass the word on to any parents you know and hopefully we can save someones life.

OK so I had my doctors appointment today and he checked me physically, so we are getting close and wanting to hear some guesses, so here is the information so far. I am about a 2 in dilation and thinning out (don't know how much) and the baby is head down. The heart beat was at about 150 and with Odin it was at about 145. I am 37 weeks. My belly measures 44 inches around. I am not sure what I measured around with Odin. My due date is April 30Th and I went about a week early with Odin. I am still going with Boy and I am hoping he weighs about the same as Odin if not smaller. Odin weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 19 inches long. I think this one will be longer because when it pushes its butt and legs out those legs are pretty long. Chuck still hasn't let on anything as to what it will be...he is dang good at keeping secrets. I am feeling pretty good except when the baby finds my ribs...not so good then. I go back next Friday (17Th) and the Friday (24Th) after and then if I haven't had the little one by then I will be induced on Tuesday the 28Th. Everyone has a date that would work best for them, Chuck wants it to come on the 30Th because then we won't have to leave for 3 days to do Guard stuff, my mom does not want it that week because I need to help her with food storage and my doctor doesn't want it on any of the next 3 weekends because he will be out of town, so someone will have to loose, I just don't know who yet. So everyone send in your guesses and I will get them written down and see who is closest. Hope you enjoy the new pictures and I will keep you posted.

Odin...

Odin has just been a scream the last month. He is one busy body. We have been enjoying the days of good weather and we took him to the water park on Main Street and had a good time. It took him a while to warm up to the water but after he remembered how fun it is there was no stopping him. He also found a new jungle gym in our house and so there are some pictures of that. He is always looking for ways to get into trouble or always making what is around him useful and fun. He is a very imaginative boy and we laugh all the time. He keeps us very entertained and our hearts pumping really fast. I may die young of a heart attack because of him but what can you do?...he is ALL BOY... Enjoy...
