Black Eye

The morning after Cort slept in his bed for the first time this is what I opened the bedroom door to see...

Day One:

Day Two:

Day Three:

I have no idea how he got this...I am assuming he tried to climb back in his bed and hit the rail that is keeping him from rolling out but I really don't know...but it is a week later and he still has the bruise on his eyelid clearing up...it was a good shiner and we were all proud of it...Cort acted like nothing was wrong but it looked really painful...I got me some tough boys...

Big Boy Bed

Well it has came to that time...We put Cort into a Big Boy Bed...he was officially climbing out of his crib...not every time he was in it but enough that we worried he might get hurt...we have hard wood floors in our whole house so it isn't the softest thing to fall out onto and I am sure Cort was just falling out once he got his head over the bars...so we took his Crib and made it into a toddler bed...he is doing so good...he cried the first night and fell asleep behind the bedroom door but since then he just climbs in bed and goes to sleep...I hated putting him in a big boy bed because I want him to stay my baby forever but I know that isn't going to happen and by this age Odin had been in a Big Boy bed for months...

He can Still do it????

That is right Odin still fits through the dogie door at Grandma and Grandpas house...
and he prefers to use it instead of the door...
don't ask me why???

Cousin Time with the Barnum Cousins

My mom got the WONDERFUL privilege of having her Kingman Grandkids come visit for a few days so of course we were all over at her house for a while...Brandon and Lacey couldn't come but we were so happy to have their kids...we even got Baby Blake and he is just so stinking cute...and Odin even slept over with his cousins but not Cort I brought him home with me at night because one baby is enough for my parents to worry about...
Those rugrats had so much fun together and I was so pleased to see how well they get along...I always worry that they will forget each other since we don't get to spend that much time together but they remember each other like it was yesterday and just go crazy...Nana and Papas house looked like a tornado went through it but it was all worth it...I wish they lived closer but understand why they can't with jobs and all that fun stuff we all get to deal with...I love every minute we do get together...

22-24 WEEKS!!!!

Our Little Papaya

Your Baby: Month 5

Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

I am officially to the month stage instead of a week by week change...that means it is going by a lot faster...I tell Odin that the baby can hear him and he will talk to my belly and it is so cute...I have been feeling the baby move for a few weeks now but I officially SAW it move last night when I couldn't sleep and that means if our little Papaya is awake then others can feel it move but it usually sleeps during the day and is awake and moving at night...doesn't that figure...I am still having lots of bad days but I am hanging in there...I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday and I am curious to see if I have gained any weight...I don't think I have because I did throw up a lot and not eat much since my last appointment so we will see...it is all very exciting and now that I can feel it moving and see it moving and walk in front of a mirror and see a belly it is all for real now and I am still VERY nervous but excited...

21 WEEKS!!!

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.
